Canon Printer Range

Canon is a household name for all the right reasons! They are, in our opinion, market leaders in technical innovation and quality. We have always sold Canon printers and have rarely had any issues with reliability. Compared to some makes they aren’t the cheapest of printers to buy, although the running costs (ink cartridges etc) are very good compared to some of the competition and the quality is second to none!

This page highlights some of our current favourites and why;

ip3600 Printer

A really nice photo printer, capable of printing up to A4 size. Ideal for general use as well as for printing your own photos. Special Offer* – Buy one of the following Canon Multifunction MG series printers from and get a guaranteed 10% off our original Canon cartridge prices throughout 2011

Canon MG5150 – £99.99*

Printer, Scanner, Copier with Auto Duplex and HD Movie Print (Non-Wireless)

This is a feature-packed multifunction printer intended for the keen home user who needs a very good quality general purpose printer that can print really nice photos too.

It’s Economical to use due to it’s 5 separate ink cartridges. You reduce waste by only having to replace the colours that you’ve actually used. In our opinion this is much better than those systems that have all of the colours in one cartridge (esp Kodak!).

It offers one of the highest resolutions that we know of for any printer (9600×2400 dpi) with tiny droplet sizes down to 1pl (which again is the best we’ve come across).

Auto duplex printing is standard.

This printer is NON-Wireless. The next model up offers wireless capability.

The time for printing a 6″x4″ photo is around 39 seconds.

An added bonus for home movie buffs!

For those with HD camcorders you can use Canon’s Full HD Movie Print Software to play a movie, pause it at a certain point and print the still image – Fantastic!

Overall, a great printer. The only disadvantage for us at the moment is that we can’t refill the ink cartridges – YET! That’s why we’re offering to do a 10% discount off our original Canon cartridges throughout the rest of 2011 for anyone who buys this printer from us.

Canon MG5250 – £149.99*

Wireless Printer, Scanner, Copier with CD/DVD surface printing

This printer looks virtually identical to the MG5150 described above and most of the features like cartridges and quality are identical, so what is different?

Three main things are different:

1. It is wireless. This means that you can choose to connect the printer to your computer via a USB cable if you wish OR you can choose to connect wirelessly via your wireless router (assuming your computer can do this)

2. It can print onto the surface of CDs and DVDs. Obviously, you need to have CDs or DVDs with a special coating on their surface (we sell them!) but this is a great feature for small businesses or for people who like to organise or present their CDs nicely.

3. Faster Photo and Document Printing. It is significantly faster at printing photos and documents than the MG5150. A typical 6″x4″ photo print is produced in 20 seconds.

Overall, a great printer with all of the features that 90%+ of our customers are ever likely to want. The extra cost compared to the MG5150 is due to the wireless capability which is well worth having for the future, even if you don’t need it right now.

Canon MG6150 – £199.99*

Wireless Printer, Scanner, Copier with DVD/CD Surface printing and with an extra grey cartridge for fantastic black and white photos and touch panel controls

We recommend this printer to anyone who is serious about their photography or graphic design/art work. This printer is an upgrade on the above two. It offers all of the features of the MG5250 described above, including the wireless capability and CD surface printing but it also offers the following four main upgrades ….

1. An extra Grey cartridge. This printer has 6 cartridges instead of the 5 that the other printers have. This is to enhance the already-impressive colour gamut (colour range) especially when printing shades of black and white. It is especially useful for keen amateur or semi professional photographers.

2. It has touch Panel controls – a bit funky but nice! Instead of having buttons this stylish design is enhanced by touching the surface of the printer itself.

3. Even Faster Print out of Photos and Documents. About the same speed as the MG5250 with colour document printing and even faster with black text.

4. It has a larger 7.5cm TFT display screen The lower models described above have a 6.0cm TFT screen.

This is the top inkjet multifunction printer that we usually keep in stock. There are other printers in the Canon range that we can supply if you wish. Just give us a call.

Overall, a fantastic printer that is a perfect choice for anyone who wants superb quality prints with great reproduction of grey scale and black and white prints. Ideal for the keen amateur or semi pro photograher (or even, perhaps, for pro photographers who wish to produce proof sheets for clients to view).
