A great entry level multifunction printer that is one of our best sellers – for very good reasons! It is Very reliable, gives good quality prints and has the added advantage that you can save money on running costs by having the ink cartridges refilled by us. This printer is only available in white and as far as we are aware is unavailable in any ‘superstores’. We highly recommend this if you don’t want to spend a fortune and don’t need wireless capability.

We expect this to become our best selling Printer, Scanner, Copier. It is our entry level wireless multifunction printer. We set up our demo model in the shop in only 5 minutes! As with all of our Brother inkjet printers the 4 separate cartridges are a great idea because you only need to refill or replace the ink colours that you’ve actually used. We can reliably refill all of the cartridges, saving you even more money. The printer is slightly faster at printing than the basic DCP197c (see above) and the LCD screen is easier to view as it is larger. The main reason for the higher price, however, is the wireless function. this printer is only available in black.

Our Comments
This printer offers a great combination of features and benefits for the price. It is essentially the same as the entry level wireless J315W printer described above but has a larger screen and the added benefit of the photo paper holder in the paper cassette. This might seem like a trivial feature but for those who want a good general purpose printer but who are likely to print photos quite often it is a great feature to have. It has four separate cartridges that we can professionally refill, saving you money on future running costs. A great choice as a good general use home printer and very convenient for the keen amateur photographer.

Our Comments
This wireless multifunction printer is proving to be the ideal choice for small businesses or office environments in which there are up to three users all wanting to share the same printer. It offers slightly larger ink cartridges than the lower range models (described above) meaning that you can go for longer between refills. We can, of course, refill the printer cartridges for you. The ADF on the top is proving to be a real hit …. and for those who like printing photos the separate photo paper holder in the lower paper cassette and the Pictbridge/USB host port for direct printing from your camera or memory stick is very useful. Overall, a great printer, packed with features and very easy to set up.

Our Comments
As you can see, the specification of this printer is much higher than the HL2037 described above. It is a heavier duty mono laser printer and one which we have found to be a very reliable and good quality workhorse for small to medium office environments. It is NOT, however, a wireless printer so it does need to be connected by USB cable. Unusually these days there is also a parallel port for those with older computers! The main advantage of this printer is that it can take standard and high capacity toner cartridges rated at 3500 and 7000 pages respectively. Even the standard capacity is pretty good but when we refill them we automatically convert to the high capacity for only £55 including VAT – hard to beat for any competitor in this price range!! The standard paper tray is large enough for most environments, as is the output tray which can take 100 sheets before overflowing! We wouldn’t recommend paper weights above 100 gsm though.
