Photo Prints available in an Instant

We’ve now had our in-store Sony photo printing kiosk for just over a year and it is proving very popular with our regular customers.

If you’ve been on holiday or taken photos at a special occasion but not printed them out yet then this is the perfect service for you. The kiosk is intended to be self-service, but we are always available to help you if you need.

All you need to do is remove the camera memory card from your camera and insert it into the kiosk. The kiosk finds and displays all of the photos. From there you use the LCD Touch screen to choose the ones you’d like to print. The cost of the prints is displayed as you choose them so that you can keep an eye on what you’re spending. If you like you can crop, rotate, convert to black and white or sepia and add a matte finish if you prefer. You can even remove ‘red eye’.

The Sony Snaplab kiosk can print three sizes: 6″x4″, 7″x5″ or 8″x6″.

The kiosk can also read images from CDs, DVDs and memory sticks. If you’ve got photos on your mobile phone you can send them to the kiosk via Bluetooth.

A 6″x4″ instant print takes around 8 seconds to print and if you’ve got several prints to do the kiosk will give you an estimated time for the printing. Some customers plan to go away, do some shopping for a few minutes and then come back once they are done ….. easy!

Prices vary depending on the size and number of prints you choose. However, we are competitive for an instant print service and so there is no need to venture into any of the superstores or pay for parking in town in order to get better prices!

We regularly (on a weekly basis) receive comments from our customers who have tried other kiosks in the very large chemists and city centre photographic retail chains. They all say that they prefer the quality of the prints from our kiosk.

TZ Tapes

We are stocking the following Self-Adhesive tapes, all 12mm width (other widths <12mm are also available). These are all highly water resistant and come in 8m lengths. Prices are between £12 and £16 (depending on the tape)

All tapes come in a cassette that you simply click into the label printer. It takes less than 30 seconds to change a tape…. Brilliant!

We are now Refilling Brother LC985 ink cartridges

We now have the correct ink for the new range of Brother LC985 cartridges and we can professionally refill them for you.

Current Availability

We have plenty of pre-refilled stock and so if you bring your empty cartridge in to the shop we will be able to give you a refilled one straight away.

Refill Volumes and Method

We are refilling these cartridges to their full volume which means that they have at least as much ink as they did when Brother originally made them. Our unique refill technique means that apart from the new Phoenix markings and labels you would never know that they’d been refilled (No holes, no damage etc) which means that they will fit your printer and they will work!

The LC985 cartridges fit most of the new range of Brother Printer, Scanner, Copiers including the ones that we sell.

Canon and Brother introduce new Printers – Watch this space!

Some of our favourite printers from both Canon and Brother have been discontinued this month and we are soon to receive their replacements.

I had a really good meeting with  our account manager from Brother UK yesterday and have agreed to stock 4 new multifunction inkjet models, one mono laser printer and two label printers. Details to follow shortly.

Meanwhile, our stocks of the Canon MP560 are VERY low and when they are gone, they are gone! …. for good!

We’ve just received literature from Canon about the new models but we are yet to find out more. We are very interested in some of the new features that appear to be on offer, for example, the ability to print a still image from an HD camcorder! Now that could be worth a look! Again, We’ll post more information when we’ve got it.

The above are all ink cartridges, mostly for printers that have been on sale within the last 5 years. We can refill many more and if we can’t or don’t refill something we often have a compatible alternative. Many are refilled with extra ink and typically the refills save you between 30% and 80% compared to buying new original cartridges.

Wherever possible we electrically test all cartridges, fully flush them out (several times) and refill them with bespoke ink, mostly sourced from OCP who are one of the leading high quality ink manufacturers from Europe. Our aim is to produce a high quality product that will work at least as well as it did originally and hopefully last you even longer whilst saving you money.

All of the above printers have separate refillable cartridges (Refillable by us!). They cut down on waste ink because you only replace the colours you’ve actually used. This makes them far superior to printers with  cartridges that have got several colours inside (as with most HPs). When you purchase one of these printers from us we’ll make a note on our system that says you can have your first 4 empty cartridges refilled for free. Can’t say fairer than that!
