1. The Story of Mrs C & the Miraculous HP 56!

- How we helped a small Coventry business to save nearly £150 on ink bills

This is the most common inkjet cartridge that we see in Coventry… And we are undoubtedly the most prolific refiller of ink cartridges in the city!

One customer, Mrs C, comes into the shop quite regularly. She is an administrative asistant in a small local business and uses her HP inkjet printer all of the time, mostly for printing black-on-white invoices. Sound familiar?

Mrs C has now had her HP 56 refilled 24 times!  …. the Same One!

She was paying typically £16 a time for new ones before she found us.

She’s been paying, on average, £10 for us to refill her cartridge. For that, we’ve done the job properly every time. We electrically test it, we empty the old ink, flush it out, clean the print head, clean the electrics, clear the vent ‘holes’, electrically test it again, seal it neatly …and then she has it back, KNOWING that it works really well!

How much has she saved by having our refills?

- So far, she has saved about £144 but she’s also had about 5% more ink every time as well!

That’s more than enough to replace the printer when it finally packs up!

2. Midlands Secondary School

– We helped them to Pay for an extra member of staff with their ink and toner savings!

We had the pleasure of meeting the person in charge of purchasing ink and laser/toner cartridges for a large secondary school in Sutton Coldfield. They allowed us to review their needs and to see how much they had already been paying for their cartridges. We then did several things:

1. We identified where they were buying low capacity cartridges and replaced them with more economical high capacity ones. They weren’t aware that this was possible.

2. We arranged to refill more than 80% of the cartridges they use on a rotation basis (they have a full one, we have the empty and fill it for when it’s needed).

3. We replaced the ones that we couldn’t refill with economical compatibles (mostly Epson Inkjets) that happened to have more ink!

4. We got several printers working again. They were simply clogged up with dry ink!

5. We delivered and collected free of charge once a week!

6. We took away all of their empties to ensure that they were recycled as fully as possible.

Estimated Savings for the school for the year = £5600 ….. that’s a fair way towards paying for an extra support worker in the classroom!

3. Coventry NHS – An Outreach Department

- How we helped one small NHS department to save over £2000 per year on ink bills

The NHS in Coventry is huge and we don’t supply all departments. However, some departments who are more budget-conscious than others have ‘cottoned on’ to the fact that we can supply them with their cartridges at a much cheaper price than they were/are paying through their recommended central suppliers.

An Example – Prices Correct at the time they came to us:

One particular HP Colour cartridge – they were paying over £32 for a half filled version of a certain HP colour cartridge. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing! We were selling exactly the same thing to individual retail customers for only £28 at the time! They were buying about 10 every month! Now they only buy 3 because of the extra ink!

So what did WE do for them?

We sold them our own refilled cartridges instead. We supplied them with double-capacity refilled versions and charged only £16. That means they saved £16 per cartridge and had twice as much ink every time. That’s equivalent to getting 4 cartridges for the price of one!

We’ve cut their ink printing bills by over two thirds for that one department!

So why don’t all NHS departments now use us?

The Crazy thing is: They are worried about telling other departments because they know that they are supposed to buy from an approved supplier who can cost them much more! Typically, we think we can save them around 40% to 60% compared to buying new cartridges from their ‘recommended’ suppliers.

The other reason is that some IT ‘purists’ (often IT technicians) think that refills will damage their printers! All of our staff have been in the cartridge refilling industry for several years. Our shop has been open for a whole year but most of our staff have worked together for much longer than that. In only one year we’ve refilled a minimum of 10000 ink cartridges.

How many printers have broken? – To our knowledge – None!

If you know of any NHS departments who are looking to save money or any council departments, small businesses, schools, nurseries, & colleges who need to cut-back, please ask them to give us a ring. We’ll talk them through what’s possible, with no obligation and take it from there!
