What you need to do – if you want to use the shop service

All you need to do is bring your image into the shop as a digital file (on CD/DVD or memory stick) or even an old photograph and we will advise you about what’s possible.

Once we’ve agreed an appropriate size and style, your image will be enlarged and printed onto very high quality stretched canvas. It will be returned to the shop for you to collect, usually within about a week.

Prices and Payment

We require a minimum of a 10% or £10 (whichever is larger) deposit when you place your order. This is non-refundable once we have started work in preparing the canvas.

For standard sizes our prices range from about £35 to around £80 depending on the size you want and the amount of image manipulation involved. However, we are 100% sure that you won’t get a better canvas anywhere locally for the same price!

Possible Sizes

All canvas sizes are measured in old fashioned inches!

The lengths of a side are in an even number of inches (10,12,14,16 etc)

The smallest canvas size we usually offer is 10″ x 14″

The largest normal size we do is usually 20″ x 30″

However, we can go up to a maximum of 38″ along one side and up to 60″ (that’s 5 feet!) along the other.

Remember: The larger the canvas, the more any imperfections in the image will show. The largest images are most suitable when taken with the best cameras, often modern DSLRs. Modern compact or pro-sumer cameras can also do a good job and image sizes of A3 (12″x16″) or larger are often possible. If you are unsure, please ask.

If you are taking a photograph with the intention of having it enlarged

Quality - Set your camera on the highest quality possible.

Cropping - If you want a cropped version of your image, bring us  the uncropped version and a cropped version that we can use as a reference. we will do the cropping ourselves to make sure that important subjects don’t wrap around the edges of the canvas.

Mobile Phone Cameras – Be warned, many camera phones might sound good with 3mP,5MP, even 10MP these days, but that doesn’t mean that the images will be as good as a proper camera! We don’t normally recommend enlarging camera phone images too much because the quality isn’t great!

About the Canvas Print

For those who know, Hahnemuhle is one of the best, if not the best, names in the industry for the quality of their canvas materials. That’s what we use! Our chosen canvas material gives a satin-effect finish so it tends to ‘lift’ the vibrancy of colours without making it too shiny. The inks are pigment-based so they are less likely to fade in sunlight and should give many years of pleasure.

The canvas is stretched tightly over high-quality stretcher bars that have been sourced from sustainable pine forests in Europe. The bars are approx 1.5″ thick so they are thick enough to be impressive but not too thick! Ideal for the modern home!

The back of every canvas is finished-off neatly with tape, and special hangers are attached which allow them to hang flat against the wall. We even provide the picture hooks and nails!
